We've teamed up with the NCSU Libraries to bring you a spring webinar series all about the great services and resources available. Crash Course in Library Support for Extension

Did you know that Extension professionals have access to the services and resources at NC State University Libraries? Regardless of where you are located, there are virtual services, collections, tools, and more available at your fingertips. Join us to get an overview of the tools and support available to you. This session will be led by NCSU librarians Hillary Fox and Tisha Mentnech.

How Do I Find It? Databases, Google, and the Special Collection

Need help finding information and images? Not sure if you can use what you’re finding? This session will cover locating information using basic Google search hacks, leveraging more complex databases, and a short introduction to the Libraries’ Special Collections. We will also provide an overview of basic copyright and use permissions for sharing and using information. No prior experience needed! This session will be led by NCSU librarians Hillary Fox and Tisha Mentnech.

Unlocking Extension History with the Special Collections

Interested in learning how you can use the Libraries’ Special Collections? This session will highlight historical N.C. Cooperative Extension materials being made available on the Libraries’ Rare & Unique Digital Collections website through a current LSTA-funded digitization project. These twentieth century records document agricultural innovation, educational outreach, and community development across North Carolina. Attendees will be guided through the digitized collections and given tips for how these Extension records can be utilized in their work. This session will be led by NCSU librarian Laura Lethers.

AI Literacy - Tools & Tips for Responsible AI Use

This interactive workshop will introduce participants to emerging AI tools, with a focus on their practical applications for Extension work. Attendees will learn which AI platforms are available at NC State, explore how AI can be used to complement & enhance their workflows, and discuss the limitations and ethical use of this rapidly changing technology. This session will be led by NCSU librarian Kristy Borda.
