UpdateWe are happy to provide this informal update on some of the programs we are working on for your professional development. We will begin releasing programs as we complete them, with a final deadline of January 1, 2021. Our hope is that by releasing our 2021 calendar of programs to you by the first of the year, you may plan your participation in our programs around your other important duties and life events. On-boarding Program for Extension Employees

Comprised of 4 phases that are the Orientation, Mentoring Program, Self-guided training, and Hands-on training. Enrollment begins on the first day of hire and continues throughout year 1 of employment. While we are rolling out some phases of On-boarding as they are ready, we do not expect full completion until

January 1, 2021.

Extension Specialists On-boarding Program

Offered in conjunction with the existing CALS On-boarding program for Specialists.

Online Training for Administrative Professionals

Designed to provide self-paced training on the many online systems used by Extension.

New Agriculture Agent Training

Designed for year 1 Ag Agents in all subject areas (crops, forestry, horticulture, etc.)

New CED Training

You got the job! Now what? Designed for CEDs who are in their first 2 to 3 years of their new position.  Basic skills are practiced and practical tools delivered. This satisfies the Hands-on phase of On-boarding and it is designed to take a new CED from understanding motivations, theories and models to practical applications. Registration begins in September 2020, training begins October 1st.
